Project description

The main objectives concerning the Aqaba castle
chronological sequence of occupation of the site and to provide a structural
interpretation of the layout of both the standing remains and the underlying structures.
This case-study will be framed within the results of a wider survey and study of the
surviving caÍavanserais in Jordan, the majority of which I have already undertaken. The
combination of these studies will result in the first diachronic description and analysis
of the origin and development of the Khans in Jordan.
