Project description

Nuclear fusion is a potential alternative for large scale electricity production. Poloidal rotation will be studied in plasma scenarios with improved confinement. Poloidal and toroidal plasma rotation contribute to the total radial electric field and the ExB shearing rate (wExB) in magnetically confined plasmas. An increased wExB is believed to stabilise turbulence by tearing apart turbulence eddies and improve the confinement.
