Project description
The aim of this project is a theoretical and numerical study of various mathematical models of induction hardening of steel. A ferromagnetic material by heating above the Currie temperature changes into a paramagnetic one. The behavior of the system (thermal and electromagnetic) is highly nonlinear and the standar numerical schemes are unstable. The problem will be investigated and new robust and efficient numerical techniques for solving will be developed.
