Project description

This project is a collaboration between a provider of academic education (UGent), a provider of refresher courses and company training (Engie Laborelec) and a specialist in online learning (d-teach). Both UGent and Engie Laborelec reach only a part of their target audience (students and employees respectively) with their courses that are organized on-campus or in a company. Logistical, financial and agenda problems are important obstacles for the target audience to start or finish a training or course. Online courses can partly remove these obstacles. This allows to reach a larger part of the target audiences. Moreover, some online courses for company employees can also be used within an academic course, and vice versa. There are efficiency gains here. In this project, one existing academic online course is completely redesigned, and one existing business course is redeveloped into a digital product. In both cases, the aim is to produce an end product that can be used flexibly in an academic context as well as in a business context. The input of d-teach in the entire redesign process guarantees excellent digital didactics and student orientation. With this project we want to map the potential of a collaboration between an academic partner, a business partner and an e-learning partner, and learn from this for possible future applications of this approach.
