Project description

Insulin resistance for skeletal muscle glucose uptake is an important factor in the development of type-II diabets. The current hypothesis states that the positive effects of exercise training on the endothelial function in skeletal muscle arteries can offer an explanation for the preventive effect of exercise on glycemic control. This will be investigated in vivo and in vitro in insulin resistant Goto-Kakizaki rats.
