Project description

The aim is to elucidate mechanisms of intercellular communication via connexins in radiation-induced cell death and inflammation in the context of glioma radiotherapy. We particularly focus on brain endothelial cells, which are known to be highly radiosensitive and are extensively coupled through connexin channels. Furthermore, the consequences of endothelial bystander responses for tumor cells and normal tissue will be analyzed.
