Project description

Every day large amounts of heat are transferred through heat exchangers in many industrial and domestic processes. Heat exchanger manufacturers are continuously searching for new and better designs. A promising idea is the use of open cell metal foam for heat transfer applications. The objective of this research project is to model, design and optimize metal foam heat exchangers using the volume averaging technique.
