Project description

Disaccharides and their derivatives are ubiquitous in nature, where they exhibit a plethora of functions. Their complicated three-dimensional structure, compared to the “flatland” structures of most pharmaceuticals, makes them interesting, yet underexplored, for drug discovery. The aim of this project is the valorization of new disaccharide-based scaffolds for the synthesis of pharmaceutically and biologically interesting compounds.
