The reserach is concentrated on a textbased study of the poetry of Willem Kloos. A historical-critical edition presents all the variant readings of Kloos' sonnets. Beside a study of the genesis and the history of the text, a description of the various readings of the poems and a guideline to give account of the editorial principles used in this edition, the study also contains a reception history of Kloos' sonnets. Furthermore the study includes a theoretical chapter in which a survey is given of the state of affairs of the (modern) editorial science and the practice of constructing editions in the Netherlands and Flanders.
