Project description

In this research a new type of mode-locked laser is investigated, based on the silicon-on-insulator materialsystem integrated with a III/V- membrane with quantum dots for active function. Besides striving for the limits of the technology (electrical or optical pumping, scalabitlity of cavity length using "slow light" structures,…), also advanced applications in optical signal processing wil be studied.
