Research into the legal tools for protecting retail investors from greenwashing and sustainability claims: the research intends to analyze the EU legal framework to combat greenwashing and protect (retail) investors against the harm that may be caused by false or misleading sustainability claims by companies. The research will be both descriptive (what are the existing instruments to fend off greenwashing) and normative (how can the current legal toolbox be improved to obtain a more effective legal regime).
