Project description
In cooperative breeding species some individuals forego to breed independently and help raising offspring that are not their own. Whether and how facultative cooperative breeders may adaptively respond to population fragmentation remains poorly understood. We will investigate this question in an afro-tropical bird, Phyllastrephus placidus, in three different fragmented forest archipelagos located within the Eastern Arc Mountains biodiversity hotspot.
