Microbial protein hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria nitrogen recovery microbial ecology synthetic microbial community
Project description

Nitrogen recovery with microbial hydrogen oxidation will be demonstrated to produce microbial protein (MP) as food/feed. Microbial communities with desired functionalities will be enriched and characterized. Then, the core and satellite microbiome will be isolated to understand the microbial interactions and to construct high performing synthetic microbial communities. The MP production will
also be demonstrated and optimized at bioreactor scale.
