Project description
Shigatoxin producing E. coli (STEC) are known to cause severe human infections. A new STEC detection method for serotypes O26, O103, O111, O145 and O157 (both sorbitol positive and negative) will be optimized (multiplex PCR, IMS). The optimized method will be validated using ring trials in order to implement this method in STEC control and prevention.
