Project description

This research deals with the representation of the French Revolution in English and Dutch literary texts from 1785-1795. I want to investigate what markts these literary texts in their ways of representing historical ecerpience. Despite their chronological and geographical proximity to the event they relate, their representation of reality happens with narratologocal markers of distance.
