Zero chemical electrocoagulation flotation (ECF) technology is used to (pre)treat municipal wastewater (MWW) in Belgium and Bangladesh. Performance of both Fe and Al electrodes is being investigated. Efficient removal of (suspended) organic matter, total phosphate, turbidity, heavy metals and pathogens was investigated. The potential of the obtained effluent quality for irrigation and discharge into surface water is also being investigated.
