This research entails a interdisciplinary effort to analyze quantitative data on global inter-city relations. It coninues existing research on developing better indicators of actual links among so-called 'xorld cities' in order to evaluate some of most important assumptions found in the theoretical literature, and in order to develop more accurate descriptions of the system's structure and changes over time.
