Project description

As the length of composite blades for large horizontal axis wind turbines keeps on increasing, the interaction between the air flow and the deforming composite blades has to be taken into account during their design. Therefore, a detailed numerical model and faster simulation techniques will be developed. Using this model, we will study vibrations and defects in the composite material.
