At the Centre for Synthetic Biology, a new enzyme was recently discovered that is able to produce a highly valuable cosmetic ingredient  more efficiently than is currently possible. In order to file a strong patent that offers broad protection, however, a significant number of additional experiments need to be performed. Furthermore, a thorough market search will be performed in order to identify key players who should be interested in a license on our new technology.
