Project description

Through an ethnographic analysis of the language use and perceptions at an Eastern-Flemish secondary school, the project aims at an insight in the characteristics and use of pupils’ and staff members’ informal language, generally named tussentaal. Additionally, by offering a corpus of sub-standard Dutch, the survey will facilitate theoretical statements about the conceptualisation of tussentaal.
