Project description

OTULIN is a deubiquitinating enzyme that functions as a crucial brake on cell death. We investigated the role of OTULIN in skin biology by depleting OTULIN from mouse keratinocytes. These mice develop inflamed skin lesions that progress into squamous cell carcinomas, a phenotype driven by excessive cell death. Addtionally, we studied the role of OTULIN in Wnt signalling by analysing the phenotype of mice with keratinocyte-selective OTULIN ablation in which we stabilize beta-catenin.
