Project description

The present research project focuses on the societal trend of parental overprotection. In a sample of middle aged children, adolescents, and emerging adults we aim to (a) clarify the meaning of parental overprotection, (b) identify dynamics explaining why parents engage in overprotective behavior, and (c) examine the consequences of overprotection on chidren’s self-regulatory styles and strategies to cope with failure.
