Project description

The Carte de Cabinet of count Joseph de Ferraris (1770-1780) is the oldest, large-scale topographical map of our regions. To allow the map to realize its full potential in different research disciplines a GIS-model will be developed to deal with the map's vague geometry and semantics (the occurrence of globel and local geometric deformations and the absence of parish bouncaries respectively).
