Salicylic acid is a phytohormone that plays an important role in defense responses to pathogens in plants and can by synthesized by two possible pathways: the ICS or PAL pathway. In this research project, we aim to find out which of these pathways is most important for salicylic acid biosynthesis and how nematodes can interfere with it.
