The ability to evolve their strategy – or having strategic flexibility – can impact the survival of young ventures. To unpack the source of this critical capability, we investigate decision rules as a key microfoundation. We are also investigating how Venture Capital investors impact the use of these decision rules and, thus, the development of the strategic flexibility capability.
