Project description
Large glands on the leaves of Dioscorea sansibarensis are the site of a specific interaction with bacteria. The function of the symbiotic glands is unknown, as is the life cycle of the symbiosis. I propose to study this system with a combination of omics, molecular and microscopy methods and to evaluate its potential as a model for leaf/microorganisms interactions.
