Project description

This project aims to gain insight into the functioning of a number of Latin texts within their surrounding literary fields and in relation to the vernacular fairy tale tradition. It will result in a literary-historical analysis of how these texts have self-consciously positioned themselves within certain tensions in the field between modernist/innovative and classicist/conservative tendencies.
