Soil degradation in the Shafe and Sile-Elgo catchments threatens food security and environmental quality. This research aims at (1) identifying the processes active at field scale within the cropland and grazing land, (2) the evaluation of the soil quality status, and (3) generating insights in the spatio-temporal behaviour of (inter)rill erosion in the highlands, and salinisation in the lowlands.
