The pathogenicity of influenza A viruses is determined by the genetic composition of the virus and its host, but the molecular mechanisms are largely unknown. By applying a comparative genetic and proteomics analysis of the infection process of a low- and highly-pathogenic influenza A virus, we aim to identify novel pathogenicity determining factors.
