Project description

The main objective of this research is to develop and improve techniques for the processing and assimilation of multi-source remote sensing products into large-scale hydrologic models with the aim to improve current worldwide early-warning systems for droughts. This will be based on an intelligent use of complementary remote sensing data and innovative modelling techniques. Existing algorithms will be further evaluated and adapted to the current needs and supplemented with new techniques to optimally use the available remote sensing data sets.
