Project description

In both China and EU biodiversity is under serious threat. Both jurisdictions have passed laws and regulations and developed legal mechanisms for biodiversity conservation. However, biodiversity regimes in China and EU did not take into account the effects of climate change and are likely to fall short to adequately facilitate adaptation of species and ecosystems to climate change. This comparative legal research will focus on new developments to realize synergies between biodiversity conservation and climate change control in China and in the EU.
