Project description

The research concerns laboratory experiments with optical imaging techniques, Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV) and Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) to investigate the turbulent exchange of water and solutes or suspended matter between a river and a (harbor) basin. More specifically, the influence of standing surface gravity waves in the basin upon the mass exchange will be investigated, for different orientations of the basin.
