Project description

Within the general development of the ports at Terneuzen and Ghent (both part of North Sea Port as a merge between Zeeland Seaport and Ghent Port Company), the lock complex in Terneuzen is being renewed. A new lock (referred to as ‘new lock Terneuzen’) is currently under construction, with a length of 427 m and a width of 55.2 m. Deltares has been involved in the design study of the lock chamber, addressing amongst others the hydraulics and their impact on the moored ship.
