Project description

The present project aims at assessing the palaeoenvironmental and archaeological potential of a drowned landscape at the border of the former Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta in south-western Netherlands. The applied method consists of manual and mechanical drilling within a grid of 30x30m (palaeoenvironmental survey) and 10x10m (archaeological survey) in an area which is threatened by the construction of a tunnel.
