Project description
This research project contains surface tension tests, vane and plate shear tests, laboratory tunnelling tests and in-situ data analysis for assessment of soil conditioning with foam penetration in tunnel boring projects. Tests from micro to macro scale make this project the first to assess foaming agent concentration from theory to application in shield tunnelling. The findings can reduce the tunnelling cost and make the tunnelling more friendly to the environment.
