Project description
Lifespan extension by means of dietary restriction (DR) is evolutionarily conserved. Axenic (sterile) dietary restriction (ADR) in the nematode C. elegans doubles lifespan and is dependent on BLI-4. We will investigate tissue and isoform specificity in which BLI-4 acts in this lifespan extension. Also, the spatio-temporal analysis of age-related tissue deterioration will be performed in ADR-treated worms.
