Project description

Design and construction of a unique, fully instrumented, ultra-high pressure rheometer that allows measuring all relevant thermomechanical properties of various liquid lubricants under different imposed (thermodynamic) states, i.e. Pressure, temperature, and shear rate, which are relevant for understanding different lubrication regimes in tribological applications. There is a clear indication of a market need for such infrastructure, but the technological feasibility to measure at industrially relevant conditions needs to be demonstrated.
