Project description

This study investigates the impact of Flemish local governments’ political characteristics on their financial performance. The financial balance since 1995 will be examined, with particular attention to spatial patterns. The new regulations of BBC (from 2014) allow to determine whether the local government’s ability to timely meet its financial obligations as well as its efficiency is affected by politics.
