Project description

Mycotoxins are poisonous fungal metabolites, causing economic losses through food/feed contamination, and exerting health threats to human and animals through dietary consumption on a global scale. Recent studies have shown that 50% of all crops wordwide are contaminated with mycotoxins exceeding the maximum allowed limits. Additionally, climate change is worsening the mycotoxin issue. Therefore, high-quality, high-throughput and innovative solutions to mitigate and control mycotoxins are key for the future. Based on more than 25 years of top-level experience and know-how in mycotoxin technologies and diagnostics, we will apply our extensive portfolio to create a valorized mycotoxin platform, Myco-Tech. As one-stop-shop, Myco-Tech will synthesize and supply certified mycotoxin standards, including mycotoxin derivatives, conjugates, and recognition elements, which will be applied in various mycotoxin detection and diagnostic approaches. Additionally, Myco-Tech will provide customized mycotoxin analyses in food/feed/biological samples, and tailor-made methodologies for efficacy testing of mycotoxin detoxifying agents.
