Project description

Kaon production reactions play a crucial role in the study of the excitation spectrum of the nucleon. The Regge-plus-resonance model, developed at Ghent University, is a powerful phenomenological model that provides a satisfactory description of the current experimental data, using a limited number of free parameters. Production off deuterium will allow to constrain the elementary reaction even further and in addition provide information about the hyperon-nucleon interaction.
