Project description

This research proposal investigates mechanisms involved in 1. paroxysmal seizure occurrence and 2. electrical seizure suppression by means of 1. long-term intracranial evoked potential recording and 2. intraoperative single unit recording. This will be performed in patients in whom hippocampal electrode placement is indicated for epilepsy diagnosis and treatment. Our findings may provide rational guidance of electrical suppression of seizure activity.
