Project description

In this project, basic research will be performed into nanolasers based on photonic crystals in an indium phosphide (InP) membrane bonded to silicon. We will investigate two applications of this device: on one hand as basic component in a flip-flop for all-optical signal processing, on the other hand as extremely sensitive biosensor.
