Project description

This project aims to elucidate the identity of the substrate of the ABCC6 transporter which is disturbed in Pseudoxanthoma Elasticum (PXE), an autosomal recessive genodermatosis. It also wants to explore the relationship to the deficient mineralization of connective tissues in this disorder and to investigate the role of vitamin K in the aberrant calcification process.
