Project description
 

Two poorly characterized cadherin subfamilies will be analyzed in greater depth. For type-II classic cadherins, focus will lie on phylogenetic analyses, gene structure and gene expression analyses, and a selection of gene knockout mice. For delta-protocadherins, focus will lie on identification of molecular interaction partners, on contribution to protein structure determinations, and on phenotyping of some recently generated knockout mice.
