Project description

The future of each microbiology subdomain is single-cell: inter-cell variability contains a hitherto unexplored source of diversity with novel insights and biotechnological and ecological potential. Current end-of-life single-cell techniques need replacement and will be expanded with advanced cell sorting technology. The possibility to sort microbial subpopulations facilitates highly innovative research bringing UGent back at the frontline of this domain.
