Aim of the research: 1. The visualization of the actual nature and extent of the drug related crime in and around the Maas-Rijn-area and thus formulation of the problem; 2. Imaging which forms of cooperation have already been developed by cross-border collaborative police and public prosecutors to combat these drug-related crime; 3. imaging of best practices that exist in the individual subregions of the Maas-Rijn and that lend themselves to use in other sub-areas of the EMR; 4. formulate as concrete as possible recommendations on exploiting opportunities by local and regional authorities, in cooperation with the police and public prosecutors in the Meuse-Rhine; 5. as concrete as possible visualization of realistic possibilities for the respective national authorities to improve cooperation and coordination of policy and legislation on combating drug-related crime. Or the visualization of the main obstacles that stand situation improvement in the way and can be cleared by the national governments of the past; 6. foregoing display in an implementation plan and timeline for action in 2008-2009
