Project description
Defects in inflammasome signalling are linked to IBD development in humans. Moreover, inflammasome signalling influences the composition of the gut microbiome. As inflammasome activity depends on the enzymatic function of either caspase-1 or caspase-11, we will investigate wich of these caspase units is involved in these connections and in which intestinal cell type(s) this acts to influence intestinal inflammation.
