Project description

This project examines a metahistorical tradition within the framework of “politics of time” and “regimes of historicity.” Against the current of modern thought on history, this tradition (Sorel, Péguy, Daniel Halévy, Benedetto Croce and Walter Benjamin) makes a case against historical distance and for presentist modes of historical engagement.
