Project description
WHO reports 70% of emerging infectious diseases are zoonotic, often transmitted via animal-sourced foods. This project examines virulence, antibiotic resistance, and foodborne prevalence of emerging pathogens (Campylobacter concisus, C. curvus, C. rectus, Proteus mirabilis, Escherichia albertii). It includes gene pool analysis and phylogenetic links, yielding insights to inform food safety policy and refine detection methods in Belgium.
