Project description

Several studies indicate that the pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-1 (IL-1) can activate T cell subsets and dendritic cells and is therefore essential in inducing protective cellular immunity against various pathogens and cancer cells. In this PhD proposal, we will apply the in-house developed AcTakine-concept (“Activation by Targeting”) in order to employ the immunostimulatory properties of IL-1β in a controlled way.
